Getting Started

Creating your account, workspace, and inviting your team — the setup steps every tenant type shares before jumping into role-specific work.

This page covers everything that's common to Clinic, Laboratory, and Supplier workspaces: signing up, signing in, switching between workspaces/branches, and administration (staff, roles, branches, settings). Once you're set up, jump to the guide for your role: Clinic, Laboratory, or Supplier.

Creating an account

Registration is a 4-step wizard at /register:

  1. Account — first name, last name, email, and password (minimum 8 characters, with a live strength meter) plus a confirm-password field. Your email is checked for availability as you move to the next step.
  2. Workspace — your workspace (tenant) name, a URL slug (auto-generated from the name, editable, lowercase letters/numbers/hyphens only, checked for availability), an optional branch name (defaults to the workspace name if left blank), and your workspace type: Clinic, Laboratory, or Supplier. This choice determines which modules and reports you'll see everywhere else in the app — choose carefully, as this drives the rest of your experience.
  3. Plan — pick a subscription plan (monthly or annual billing, annual is discounted). You can pay by ABA KHQR (scan a QR code with ABA Mobile; the page polls for confirmation and completes signup automatically once payment clears) or continue with offline payment, where the PetDentX team follows up with you after signup to arrange payment.
  4. Complete — a summary of your account, workspace, and subscription, then a button into the dashboard.

Behind the scenes, registration creates your User, Tenant, first Branch, your StaffMembership (as the tenant admin), and a default admin TenantRole — all in one step, so you land in a fully working workspace.

Signing in

Sign in at /login with your email and password.

  • If your subscription isn't active, you're routed to a "subscription required" page.
  • If you belong to more than one workspace (e.g. you were invited as staff to a second tenant), you land on Select Workspace — pick which one to enter. If you only belong to one, you go straight to the dashboard.

Switching branches and workspaces

  • Branches — if your workspace has more than one branch and you have access to more than one, a branch switcher appears in the dashboard header. Every page reloads its data scoped to the branch you switch into.
  • Workspaces — if your account belongs to multiple tenants, use the workspace switcher to move between them without logging out.

Staff & Roles

  • Staff (/staff) — invite teammates by first name, last name, email, and a role. Leave the password field blank to auto-generate one, or set it yourself. Existing staff can be edited (name, email, role) and have their branch access adjusted — which branches, of the ones your workspace has, that person can act in.
  • Roles (/roles) — build custom roles with a name, description, and a permission matrix. Each module (Patients, Appointments, Lab Orders, Invoices, Products, Reports, Staff, and more — the list adapts to your workspace type) can be granted Read, Create, Update, and Delete independently. A role can also be granted access to all branches, which is what the default admin role uses.

Branches

/branches lists every branch (sub-location) in your workspace — e.g. a clinic's downtown location, a lab's second site. Add a branch with a name and type; each branch can have its own bank accounts, document/print settings, and staff access list.

Workspace Settings

/settings covers:

  • Branch profile — logo, branch name, contact email/phone, address.
  • Document settings — paper size, an internal USD→KHR conversion rate for documents, invoice and quotation title text, default payment terms, a footer note, and the four signature labels used on printed documents (Customer, Approved By, Seller, Delivered By).
  • Bank accounts — one or more accounts (bank name, currency, account number, account name, payment instructions) that appear on printed invoices/quotations.
  • Your profile — first name, last name, email.
